If you like the look of fresco, you’ll probably like the image tiles you can create using the Tilano Fresco photo transfer tile kit to make something for a special someone or occasion.
The kit has everything you need (you add the photos) to make two 8×8 inch fresco tiles. It comes with
2 Wood tiles
Antiquing glaze; crackle, medium
3 sheets of imaging paper
2 wooden dowels
Easy to follow instructions
To get to the finished project can take several hours or longer (it depends on if you use your oven at certain steps) but this makes an artsy, unique gift for all occasions–Christmas, birthdays, Mother’s and Father’s Days, Graduations.
The finished tiles can be hung, put on an easel, or free-standing by using the wooden dowels which are inserted in the back
You don’t use your original images. They are transferred to the imaging paper included in the kit via a color copier, or a color laser printer. Before transferring your picture to the imaging paper re-size, if necessary, the image using imaging editing software. Add any words or graphical elements to your image at this stage.
A couple of suggestions:
Make sure to reverse type if you have words on your tile(s)
If possible, plan to use both tiles to create your gifts at the same time. he mud that comes with the kit can dry out over time. All is not lost, however, because you can add water to make it workable again, but you might get a little frustrated with the effort.
The Tilano website at www.Tilano.net features a gallery where you can get different ideas on how to use the kit. This particular kit is available at the Tilano site for $48.99, however, they do have other kits available at other prices.
